Wednesday- April 28th: 12pm – 1:30pm.
This is a pre-requisite course that is a requirement for our range members who desire to have the ability to draw-and-fire in the shooting range.
In order to qualify for this course, you must have had your permit for a minimum of one year, and you need to affirm that you have fired a minimum of 1000 rounds through the gun you are using for the class.
This is a safety course- not a tactical course. Participants will be taught a basic technique for un-holstering and re-holstering a sidearm from concealment.
The only allowable carry method for this course (and for drawing a weapon on our range) is from either an approved IWB or OWB holster that is on your hip. (No appendix carry. No ankle carry. No small of the back carry. No shoulder rigs.)
The course is composed of classroom instruction, dry-fire, and then live-fire on the range. To successfully pass, the participant will need to complete 20 draws and shoot 20 shots onto a 20 inch target, with at least 80% of the shots hitting on the paper, from a distance of 15 feet.
Attendance is limited to 10 people. Participant must supply his / her own gun, ammo, and holster.
Total cost is $100, with payment due at time of registration.
Successfully passing this course allows Premier level range members to book a timeslot and have the capacity to draw-and-fire during their practice, should they decide to do so. The “Premier” level of range membership is necessary because you need to reserve both lanes if you are going to be drawing from concealment. (This limits the number of people on the range, and will allow for the RSO to stand in the open lane, and not behind the participant.)
